Gene Full Name:
Gene Infomation:The A-kinase anchor proteins (AKAPs) are a group ofstructurally diverse proteins, which have the common function ofbinding to the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A (PKA) andconfining the holoenzyme to discrete locations within the cell. This gene encodes a member of the AKAP family. The encoded proteinbinds to the RII-beta regulatory subunit of PKA, and also toprotein kinase C and the phosphatase calcineurin. It ispredominantly expressed in cerebral cortex and may anchor the PKAprotein at postsynaptic densities (PSD) and be involved in theregulation of postsynaptic events. It is also expressed in Tlymphocytes and may function to inhibit interleukin-2 transcriptionby disrupting calcineurin-dependent dephosphorylation of NFAT.
Antigen:This AKAP5 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 115-143 amino acids from the Central region of human AKAP5.

Buffer condition:Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.
Background:
Molar Function:
Western Blot:Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Notes: For In vitro laboratory use only. Not for any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use in humans or animals. Not for animal or human consumption.
