Gene Full Name:
Gene Infomation:The serine-threonine protein kinase encoded by the AKT1gene is catalytically inactive in serum-starved primary andimmortalized fibroblasts. AKT1 and the related AKT2 are activatedby platelet-derived growth factor. The activation is rapid andspecific, and it is abrogated by mutations in the pleckstrinhomology domain of AKT1. It was shown that the activation occursthrough phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase. In the developing nervoussystem AKT is a critical mediator of growth factor-induced neuronalsurvival. Survival factors can suppress apoptosis in atranscription-independent manner by activating the serine/threoninekinase AKT1, which then phosphorylates and inactivates componentsof the apoptotic machinery. Multiple alternatively splicedtranscript variants have been found for this gene. [provided byRefSeq].
Antigen:This AKT1 Antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic phosphopeptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding T450 of human AKT1.

Buffer condition:Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by two-step phosphospecific peptide affinity purification.
Background:
Molar Function:
Western Blot:Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Notes: For In vitro laboratory use only. Not for any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use in humans or animals. Not for animal or human consumption.
