Gene Full Name:

Gene Infomation:This gene encodes catalase, a key antioxidant enzyme inthe bodies defense against oxidative stress. Catalase is a hemeenzyme that is present in the peroxisome of nearly all aerobiccells. Catalase converts the reactive oxygen species hydrogenperoxide to water and oxygen and thereby mitigates the toxiceffects of hydrogen peroxide. Oxidative stress is hypothesized toplay a role in the development of many chronic or late-onsetdiseases such as diabetes, asthma, Alzheimer's disease, systemiclupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, and cancers.Polymorphisms in this gene have been associated with decreases incatalase activity but, to date, acatalasemia is the only diseaseknown to be caused by this gene.

Antigen:This CAT antibody is generated from mice immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 152-180 amino acids from the Central region of human CAT.

Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Notes: For In vitro laboratory use only. Not for any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use in humans or animals. Not for animal or human consumption.
