Gene Full Name:

Gene Infomation:This gene encodes a highly conserved nonhistone protein, which is a member of the heterochromatin protein family. Theprotein is enriched in the heterochromatin and associated withcentromeres. The protein has a single N-terminal chromodomain whichcan bind to histone proteins via methylated lysine residues, and aC-terminal chromo shadow-domain (CSD) which is responsible for thehomodimerization and interaction with a number ofchromatin-associated nonhistone proteins. The encoded product isinvolved in the formation of functional kinetochore throughinteraction with essential kinetochore proteins. The gene has apseudogene located on chromosome 3. Multiple alternatively splicedvariants, encoding the same protein, have been identified.

Antigen:This CBX5 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 88-117 amino acids from the Central region of human CBX5.

Buffer condition:Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.

Background:

Molar Function:

Western Blot:

Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Notes: For In vitro laboratory use only. Not for any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use in humans or animals. Not for animal or human consumption.
