Gene Full Name:

Gene Infomation:This gene encodes the pro-alpha2 chain of type I collagenwhose triple helix comprises two alpha1 chains and one alpha2chain. Type I is a fibril-forming collagen found in most connectivetissues and is abundant in bone, cornea, dermis and tendon.Mutations in this gene are associated with osteogenesis imperfectatypes I-IV, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome type VIIB, recessiveEhlers-Danlos syndrome Classical type, idiopathic osteoporosis, andatypical Marfan syndrome. Symptoms associated with mutations inthis gene, however, tend to be less severe than mutations in thegene for the alpha1 chain of type I collagen (COL1A1) reflectingthe different role of alpha2 chains in matrix integrity. Threetranscripts, resulting from the use of alternate polyadenylationsignals, have been identified for this gene. [provided by R.Dalgleish].

Antigen:This COL1A2 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 16-43 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human COL1A2.

Buffer condition:Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.

Background:

Molar Function:

Western Blot:

Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Notes: For In vitro laboratory use only. Not for any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use in humans or animals. Not for animal or human consumption.
