Gene Full Name:
Gene Infomation:The cystatin superfamily encompasses proteins that containmultiple cystatin-like sequences. Some of the members are activecysteine protease inhibitors, while others have lost or perhapsnever acquired this inhibitory activity. There are three inhibitoryfamilies in the superfamily, including the type 1 cystatins(stefins), type 2 cystatins and the kininogens. The type 2 cystatinproteins are a class of cysteine proteinase inhibitors found in avariety of human fluids and secretions, where they appear toprovide protective functions. The cystatin locus on chromosome 20contains the majority of the type 2 cystatin genes and pseudogenes. This gene is located in the cystatin locus and encodes the mostabundant extracellular inhibitor of cysteine proteases, which isfound in high concentrations in biological fluids and is expressedin virtually all organs of the body. A mutation in this gene hasbeen associated with amyloid angiopathy. Expression of this proteinin vascular wall smooth muscle cells is severely reduced in bothatherosclerotic and aneurysmal aortic lesions, establishing itsrole in vascular disease.
Antigen:This CST3 antibody is generated from mice immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 95-122 amino acids from human CST3.

Buffer condition:Mouse monoclonal antibody supplied in crude ascites with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide.
Background:
Molar Function:
Western Blot:Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Notes: For In vitro laboratory use only. Not for any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use in humans or animals. Not for animal or human consumption.
