Gene Infomation:This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins aremonooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drugmetabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids.This protein localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and is known tometabolize as many as 20% of commonly prescribed drugs. Itssubstrates include debrisoquine, an adrenergic-blocking drug;sparteine and propafenone, both anti-arrythmic drugs; andamitryptiline, an anti-depressant. The gene is highly polymorphicin the population; certain alleles result in the poor metabolizerphenotype, characterized by a decreased ability to metabolize theenzyme's substrates. The gene is located near two cytochrome P450pseudogenes on chromosome 22q13.1. Alternatively spliced transcriptvariants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
