Molar Function:Catalyzes the conversion of dihydroorotate to orotate with quinone as electron acceptor.MiscellaneousThe identification of DHODH defects as the cause of postaxial acrofacial dysostosis (POADS) was obtained via exome sequencing (PubMed:19915526), demonstrating that this method is a powerful tool for identifying genes underlying rare Mendelian disorders. Exome sequencing consists of targeted resequencing of all protein-coding subsequences, which requires around 5% as much sequencing as a whole human genome.

Western Blot: 

Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
