Gene Full Name:dentin sialophosphoprotein
Gene Infomation:This gene encodes a member of the small integrin-binding ligand N-linked glycoprotein (SIBLING) family of proteins. The encoded preproprotein is secreted by odontoblasts and proteolytically processed to generate two principal proteins of the dentin extracellular matrix of the tooth, dentin sialoprotein and dentin phosphoprotein. These two protein products may play distinct but related roles in dentin mineralization. Mutations in this gene are associated with dentinogenesis imperfecta and dentin dysplasia. This gene is present in a gene cluster on chromosome 4. Allelic differences due to repeat polymorphisms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2016]

Tissue specificity:Expressed in teeth. DPP is synthesized by odontoblast and transiently expressed by pre-ameloblasts.Gene expression databases
Storage:Store at -20°C. Avoid freeze / thaw cycles.
Buffer condition:PBS with 0.02% sodium azide, 50% glycerol, pH7.3.
Background:
Molar Function:DSP may be an important factor in dentinogenesis. DPP may bind high amount of calcium and facilitate initial mineralization of dentin matrix collagen as well as regulate the size and shape of the crystals.
Western Blot:Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Notes: For In vitro laboratory use only. Not for any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use in humans or animals. Not for animal or human consumption.
