Gene Infomation:This gene encodes a protein that is important in mRNA degradation. The encoded protein is a component of a decapping complex that promotes efficient removal of the monomethylguanosine (m7G) cap from mRNAs, as part of the 5' to 3' mRNA decay pathway. Tissue specificity:Expressed in theca and granulosa cells in ovary, and in spermatids of the meiotic division part II and apical membrane of Sertoli cells in testis (at protein level). Also expressed in brain and mammary gland.

Background:

Molar Function:Binds single-stranded RNA. Involved in the process of mRNA degradation and in the positive regulation of mRNA decapping. May play a role in spermiogenesis and oogenesis.

Western Blot: 

Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
