Gene Infomation:ELOVL4 is a membrane-bound protein which is amember of the ELO family, proteins which participate in thebiosynthesis of fatty acids. Consistent with the expression of theencoded protein in photoreceptor cells of the retina, mutations andsmall deletions in this gene are associated with Stargardt-likemacular dystrophy (STGD3) and autosomal dominant Stargardt-likemacular dystrophy (ADMD), also referred to as autosomal dominantatrophic macular degeneration.

Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
