Gene Full Name:
Gene Infomation:Many different human endogenous retrovirus (HERV) familiesare expressed in normal placental tissue at high levels, suggestingthat HERVs are functionally important in reproduction. This gene ispart of an HERV provirus on chromosome 7 that has inactivatingmutations in the gag and pol genes. This gene is the envelopeglycoprotein gene which appears to have been selectively preserved. The gene's protein product is expressed in the placentalsyncytiotrophoblast and is involved in fusion of thecytotrophoblast cells to form the syncytial layer of the placenta. The protein has the characteristics of a typical retroviralenvelope protein, including a furin cleavage site that separatesthe surface (SU) and transmembrane (TM) proteins which form aheterodimer. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding thesame protein have been found for this gene.
Antigen:This ERVWE1 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 493-521 amino acids from the C-terminal region of human ERVWE1.

Buffer condition:Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.
Background:
Molar Function:
Western Blot:Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Notes: For In vitro laboratory use only. Not for any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use in humans or animals. Not for animal or human consumption.
