Gene Full Name:

Gene Infomation:This gene encodes coagulation factor XIII B subunit.Coagulation factor XIII is the last zymogen to become activated inthe blood coagulation cascade. Plasma factor XIII is aheterotetramer composed of 2 A subunits and 2 B subunits. The Asubunits have catalytic function, and the B subunits do not haveenzymatic activity and may serve as a plasma carrier molecules.Platelet factor XIII is comprised only of 2 A subunits, which areidentical to those of plasma origin. Upon activation by thecleavage of the activation peptide by thrombin and in the presenceof calcium ion, the plasma factor XIII dissociates its B subunitsand yields the same active enzyme, factor XIIIa, as platelet factorXIII. This enzyme acts as a transglutaminase to catalyze theformation of gamma-glutamyl-epsilon-lysine crosslinking betweenfibrin molecules, thus stabilizing the fibrin clot. Factor XIIIdeficiency is classified into two categories: type I deficiency, characterized by the lack of both the A and B subunits; and type IIdeficiency, characterized by the lack of the A subunit alone. These defects can result in a lifelong bleeding tendency, defectivewound healing, and habitual abortion.

Antigen:This F13B antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 151-179 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human F13B.

Buffer condition:Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.

Background:

Molar Function:

Western Blot:

Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Notes: For In vitro laboratory use only. Not for any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use in humans or animals. Not for animal or human consumption.
