Gene Full Name:

Gene Infomation:The protein encoded by this gene is actually apreproprotein that is cleaved into four distinct mature peptides. One of these, glucagon, is a pancreatic hormone that counteractsthe glucose-lowering action of insulin by stimulatingglycogenolysis and gluconeogenesis. Glucagon is a ligand for aspecific G-protein linked receptor whose signalling pathwaycontrols cell proliferation. Two of the other peptides are secretedfrom gut endocrine cells and promote nutrient absorption throughdistinct mechanisms. Finally, the fourth peptide is similar toglicentin, an active enteroglucagon.

Antigen:This Glucagon antibody is generated from mice immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 119-148 amino acids from human Glucagon.

Buffer condition:Purified monoclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein G column, eluted with high and low pH buffers and neutralized immediately, followed by dialysis against PBS.

Background:

Molar Function:

Western Blot:

Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Notes: For In vitro laboratory use only. Not for any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use in humans or animals. Not for animal or human consumption.
