Gene Full Name:

Gene Infomation:Thy1 is a GPI-anchored, developmentally regulated protein involved in various signaling cascades that mediate neurite outgrowth, T cell activation, tumor suppression, apoptosis, and fibrosis. It is highly expressed on the surface of adult neurons and is thought to play a role in modulating adhesive and migratory events, such as neurite extension. Decreased Thy1 expression is associated with the development of epithelial ovarian cancer, revealing its role as a putative tumor suppressor gene of human ovarian cancer. Thy1 knockout mice have impaired cutaneous immune responses and abnormal retinal development. Thy1 is epigenetically regulated, or deregulated in some disease states, such as pulmonary fibrosis. The potentially reversible hypermethylation of the Thy1 promoter offers the possibility of novel therapeutic options in this disease.

Storage:Store at +4°C short term. Store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze / thaw cycle.

Buffer condition:Rabbit IgG in phosphate buffered saline , pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.

Background:Core component of nucleosome. Nucleosomes wrap and compact DNA into chromatin, limiting DNA accessibility to the cellular machineries which require DNA as a template. Histones thereby play a central role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, DNA replication and chromosomal stability. DNA accessibility is regulated via a complex set of post-translational modifications of histones, also called histone code, and nucleosome remodeling.

Molar Function:

Western Blot:

Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Notes: For In vitro laboratory use only. Not for any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use in humans or animals. Not for animal or human consumption.
