Gene Full Name:

Gene Infomation:The protein encoded by this gene is a member of thekeratin gene family. As a type II hair keratin, it is a basicprotein which heterodimerizes with type I keratins to form hair andnails. The type II hair keratins are clustered in a region ofchromosome 12q13 and are grouped into two distinct subfamiliesbased on structure similarity. One subfamily, consisting of KRTHB1,KRTHB3, and KRTHB6, is highly related. The other less-relatedsubfamily includes KRTHB2, KRTHB4, and KRTHB5. All hair keratinsare expressed in the hair follicle; this hair keratin, as well asKRTHB1 and KRTHB3, is found primarily in the hair cortex. Mutationsin this gene and KRTHB1 have been observed in patients with a raredominant hair disease, monilethrix.

Antigen:This KRT86 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 300-327 amino acids from the Central region of human KRT86.

Buffer condition:Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.

Background:

Molar Function:

Western Blot:

Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Notes: For In vitro laboratory use only. Not for any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use in humans or animals. Not for animal or human consumption.
