Gene Infomation:The protein encoded by this gene is one of the highlyconserved mini-chromosome maintenance proteins (MCM) that areessential for the initiation of eukaryotic genome replication. Thehexameric protein complex formed by the MCM proteins is a keycomponent of the pre-replication complex (pre_RC) and may beinvolved in the formation of replication forks and in therecruitment of other DNA replication related proteins. The MCMcomplex consisting of this protein and MCM2, 4 and 6 proteinspossesses DNA helicase activity, and may act as a DNA unwindingenzyme. Cyclin D1-dependent kinase, CDK4, is found to associatewith this protein, and may regulate the binding of this proteinwith the tumorsuppressor protein RB1/RB. Alternatively splicedtranscript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.

Western Blot:Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed.
