Gene Synonyms:

Gene Full Name:metaxin 2

Gene Infomation:The protein encoded by this gene is highly similar to the metaxin 2 protein from mouse, which has been shown to interact with the mitochondrial membrane protein metaxin 1. Because of this similarity, it is thought that the encoded protein is peripherally associated with the cytosolic face of the outer mitochondrial membrane, and that it is involved in the import of proteins into the mitochondrion. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. A related pseudogene has been identified on chromosome 7. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2009]

Storage:Store at -20°C. Avoid freeze / thaw cycles.

Buffer condition:PBS with 0.02% sodium azide, 50% glycerol, pH7.3.

Background:

Molar Function:Involved in transport of proteins into the mitochondrion.

Western Blot:

Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Notes: For In vitro laboratory use only. Not for any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use in humans or animals. Not for animal or human consumption.
