Gene Full Name:protein O-linked mannose N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase 1 (beta 1,2-)

Gene Infomation:This gene encodes a type II transmembrane protein that resides in the Golgi apparatus. It participates in O-mannosyl glycosylation and is specific for alpha linked terminal mannose. Mutations in this gene may be associated with muscle-eye-brain disease and several congenital muscular dystrophies. Alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different protein isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2014]

Antigen:Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 411-660 of human POMGNT1 (NP_060209.3).

Antigen Synonyms:Protein O-linked-mannose beta-1,2-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase 1

Clonality:Polyclonal antibody

Nucleotide Accession:

Tissue specificity:Constitutively expressed. An additional weaker band is also detected in spinal cord, lymph node, and trachea. Expressed especially in astrocytes. Also expressed in immature and mature neurons.

Storage:Store at -20°C. Avoid freeze / thaw cycles.

Buffer condition:PBS with 0.02% sodium azide, 50% glycerol, pH7.3.

Background:

Molar Function:Participates in O-mannosyl glycosylation. May be responsible for the synthesis of the GlcNAc(beta1-2)Man(alpha1-)O-Ser/Thr moiety on alpha-dystroglycan and other O-mannosylated proteins. Is specific for alpha linked terminal mannose and does not have MGAT3, MGAT4, MGAT5, MGAT7 or MGAT8 activity.

Western Blot:

Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Notes: For In vitro laboratory use only. Not for any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use in humans or animals. Not for animal or human consumption.
