Gene Full Name:

Gene Infomation:Transcription regulator involved in inner cell mass and embryonic stem (ES) cells proliferation and self-renewal. Imposes pluripotency on ES cells and prevents their differentiation towards extraembryonic endoderm and trophectoderm lineages. Blocks bone morphogenetic protein-induced mesoderm differentiation of ES cells by physically interacting with SMAD1 and interfering with the recruitment of coactivators to the active SMAD transcriptional complexes By similarity. Acts as a transcriptional activator or repressor By similarity. Binds optimally to the DNA consensus sequence 5-TAAT[GT][GT]-3 or 5-[CG][GA][CG]C[GC]ATTAN[GC]-3 By similarity. When overexpressed, promotes cells to enter into S phase and proliferation.

Storage:Store at +4°C short term. Store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze / thaw cycle.

Buffer condition:Rabbit IgG in phosphate buffered saline , pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.

Background:Cdk2 is a member of the Ser/Thr protein kinase family. It is highly similar to the gene products of S. cerevisiae cdc28, and S. pombe cdc2. Cdk2 is closely related to cdc2 (cdk1) which has proved useful as a marker of proliferation. Cdk1 and Cdk2 are a catalytic subunits of the highly conserved protein kinase complex known as M-phase promoting factor (MPF), which is essential for G1/S and G2/M phase transitions of eukaryotic cell cycle.

Molar Function:

Western Blot:

Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Notes: For In vitro laboratory use only. Not for any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use in humans or animals. Not for animal or human consumption.
