Gene Full Name:
Gene Infomation:CDK5 is a protein kinase of the CDK family. Unlike other members of this family, it is not activated by cyclins but by p35 (CDK5R1) and p39. An important regulator of neuronal positioning during brain development. May also play a role in synaptogenesis and neurotransmission. Substrates include TAU, MAP2, NF-H and -M, Nudel, PDE6, beta-catenin, amphyphysin, dynamin I, synapsin 1, Munc-18, and NMDA receptor 2A. Plays a role in myogenesis, haematopoietic cell differentiation, spermatogenesis, insulin secretion, and lens differentiation. Implicated in the pathology of neurofibrillary tangles and formation of senile plaques, hallmarks of Alzheimer?s disease. Induces tau phosphorylation and aggregation and neurofibrillary tangle deposition and neurodegeneration in in vitro and in vivo animal models. Brain samples from Alzeimer?s pateints show elevated CDK5 activity.

Storage:Store at +4°C short term. Store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze / thaw cycle.
Buffer condition:Rabbit IgG in phosphate buffered saline , pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
Background:Stat5 is activated in response to a wide variety of ligands including IL-2, GM-CSF, growth hormone and prolactin. Phosphorylation at Tyr694 is obligatory for Stat5 activation. This phosphorylation is mediated by Src upon erythropoietin stimulation. Stat5 is constitutively active in some leukemic cell types.
Molar Function:
Western Blot:Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Notes: For In vitro laboratory use only. Not for any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use in humans or animals. Not for animal or human consumption.
