Gene Full Name:SRY-box 9

Gene Infomation:The protein encoded by this gene recognizes the sequence CCTTGAG along with other members of the HMG-box class DNA-binding proteins. It acts during chondrocyte differentiation and, with steroidogenic factor 1, regulates transcription of the anti-Muellerian hormone (AMH) gene. Deficiencies lead to the skeletal malformation syndrome campomelic dysplasia, frequently with sex reversal. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Antigen:A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 100-200 of human SOX9 (NP_000337.1).

Antigen Synonyms:Transcription factor SOX-9

Clonality:Polyclonal antibody

Storage:Store at -20°C. Avoid freeze / thaw cycles.

Buffer condition:PBS with 0.02% sodium azide, 50% glycerol, pH7.3.

Background:

Molar Function:Transcriptional regulator (PubMed:24038782). Binds to the COL2A1 promoter and activates COL2A1 expression, as part of a complex with ZNF219 . Plays a role in chondrocyte differentiation . Important for normal skeletal development (PubMed:24038782).

Western Blot:

Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Notes: For In vitro laboratory use only. Not for any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use in humans or animals. Not for animal or human consumption.
