Gene Full Name:
Gene Infomation:This gene encodes a secreted, homodimeric glycoproteinthat is expressed in a wide variety of tissues and may haveautocrine or paracrine functions. The encoded protein has 10 of its15 cysteine residues conserved among stanniocalcin family membersand is phosphorylated by casein kinase 2 exclusively on its serineresidues. Its C-terminus contains a cluster of histidine residueswhich may interact with metal ions. The protein may play a role inthe regulation of renal and intestinal calcium and phosphatetransport, cell metabolism, or cellular calcium/phosphatehomeostasis. Constitutive overexpression of human stanniocalcin 2in mice resulted in pre- and postnatal growth restriction, reducedbone and skeletal muscle growth, and organomegaly. Expression ofthis gene is induced by estrogen and altered in some breastcancers.
Antigen:This STC2 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 273-302 amino acids from the C-terminal region of human STC2.

Buffer condition:Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.
Background:
Molar Function:
Western Blot:Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Notes: For In vitro laboratory use only. Not for any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use in humans or animals. Not for animal or human consumption.
