Gene Full Name:
Gene Infomation:Rad21 is one of the major cohesin subunits that holds sister chromatids together until anaphase, when proteolytic cleavage by separase, a caspaselike enzyme, allows chromosomal separation. Rad21 interacts with Rec8 to form a cohesin complex that functions in sister chromatid alignment. Rad21 is also involved in the repair of double-strand breaks in DNA and is essential for mitotic growth. Rad21 undergoes a C-terminal cleavage induced by diverse stimuli right before apoptosis. The cleavage product migrates to the cytoplasm and is involved in early events in the apoptotic pathway and it amplifiies the cell death signal in a positive-feedback manner.

Storage:Store at +4°C short term. Store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze / thaw cycle.
Buffer condition:Rabbit IgG in phosphate buffered saline , pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
Background:SYP Possibly involved in structural functions as organizing other membrane components or in targeting the vesicles to the plasma membrane. Involved in the regulation of short-term and long-term synaptic plasticity. Belongs to the synaptophysin/synaptobrevin family. Homohexamer or homotetramer.
Molar Function:
Western Blot:Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Notes: For In vitro laboratory use only. Not for any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use in humans or animals. Not for animal or human consumption.
