Gene Name:UBE2T

Synonyms:FANCT; PIG50; HSPC150

Gene Synonyms:

Gene Full Name:ubiquitin conjugating enzyme E2 T

Gene Infomation:The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the covalent attachment of ubiquitin to protein substrates. Defects in this gene have been associated with Fanconi anemia of complementation group T. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2015]

Background:

Molar Function:Accepts ubiquitin from the E1 complex and catalyzes its covalent attachment to other proteins. Catalyzes monoubiquitination. Involved in mitomycin-C (MMC)-induced DNA repair. Acts as a specific E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme for the Fanconi anemia complex by associating with E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase FANCL and catalyzing monoubiquitination of FANCD2, a key step in the DNA damage pathway (PubMed:16916645, PubMed:17938197, PubMed:19111657, PubMed:19589784, PubMed:28437106). Also mediates monoubiquitination of FANCL and FANCI (PubMed:16916645, PubMed:17938197, PubMed:19111657, PubMed:19589784). May contribute to ubiquitination and degradation of BRCA1 (PubMed:19887602). In vitro able to promote polyubiquitination using all 7 ubiquitin Lys residues, but may prefer 'Lys-11'-, 'Lys-27'-, 'Lys-48'- and 'Lys-63'-linked polyubiquitination (PubMed:20061386).

Western Blot:

Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Notes: For In vitro laboratory use only. Not for any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use in humans or animals. Not for animal or human consumption.
