Gene Full Name:
Gene Infomation:Visfatin, a newly identified adipocytokine ,which is predominantly secreted from visceral adipose tissue both in humans and mice . Visfatin corresponds to a protein identified previously as pre-B cell colony-enhancing factor (PBEF). Visfatin exerted insulin-mimetic effects in cultured cells, various insulin-sensitive tissues such as liver, muscle, and fat ,and lowered plasma glucose levels in mice. Mice heterozygous for a targeted mutation in the visfatin gene had modestly higher levels of plasma glucose relative to wild-type littermates. visfatin binds to and activates the insulin receptor. Which may lead to new insights into glucose homeostasis and/or new therapies for metabolic disorders such as diabetes.
Antigen:Purified recombinant fragment of Visfatin expressed in E. Coli.

Background:
Molar Function:
Western Blot:Stability: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
Storage: Store at 4°C for frequent use. Stored at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Notes: For In vitro laboratory use only. Not for any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use in humans or animals. Not for animal or human consumption.
